Entertainment financial figures consistently indicate that "G" and "PG"-rated theatrical releases have been some of the most successful films of all time. In fact, there has been a theatrically released family film occupying a top five position in gross ticket sales every year for the last ten years. Of those family films, at least one animated film has held a top five position six out the last ten years (two animated films in 1995, 2001 and 2004). The top 20 highest grossing movies of all time worldwide include 15 movies in the family/children genre and of those listed three of the productions were animated features grossing a combined total of over $2.5 billion.
This indicates that audiences have a voracious appetite for family-oriented films and furthermore that a deep desire to see entertaining animated stories on the “big screen” has increasing value to movie-goers. Toonacious currently has a variety of original animated feature films in various stages of development. Two are character-driven comedies and the third is a pirate fantasy-adventure in addition to an adventure-comedy feature film based on a well-known historical figure which Toonacious will co-produce, scheduled for release in 2008.
